Kentucky state laws require all drivers to have liability coverage of 25/50/10 (see scale below). That means you must carry $25,000 for bodily injury per person, $50,000 total for bodily injury per accident, and $10,000 for property damage per accident.

The penalties for driving without insurance in Kentucky can include fines between $500 and $1000, up to 90 days in jail, or both. In addition, your Kentucky motor vehicle registration and license plates can be suspended for one year or until proof of insurance is provided. You can also lose your license for up to a year.
